Meet Hank — the Darrow on the block.
I started fixing things for my neighbors in 1994 with a toolbox and a pickup. No company name at first — just a number on the mailbox. Thirty years later, most of my work still comes from people I’ve seen at the grocery store.
That’s the whole business model. Do it right, be there when I say, charge what I quoted, and the next neighbor finds you.
What neighbors call me for
Repairs
Leaky faucets, sticking doors, wobbly shelves, sagging gutters — the stuff that piles up.
Installs
Shutters, blinds, TVs, faucets, door hardware, light fixtures. Handed to me, hung by me.
Touch-up painting
Scuffs, nail holes, one door, one trim line. Matched to what’s already there.
Outdoor
Gates, fence sections, hose bibs, deck boards, window wells. Before it becomes a project.
Senior-friendly visits
Grab bars, night lights, ramp checks — done patiently, explained slowly, no rush.
Same-day
Call before noon, we’re usually there that day. Emergencies jump the queue.
“Hank fixed the gate, the hinge, and showed me how to oil it so it never squeaks again. That’s the whole review.”
— the 38th & Blake household, since 2019“My mom’s at 84 and he spent an hour explaining every change before touching a wall. She waves at him in the parking lot.”
— Sloan Lake area“Three quotes to re-hang one door. Hank was the cheapest AND finished the same day. We don’t call anyone else.”
